The MSA 5x Multigas Detector can simultaneously measure up to six gases, including natural gas. Utilizing advanced XCell Sensor Technology, it offers faster response times, enhanced stability, accuracy, prolonged service life, and cost savings. Various features are incorporated to alert others of potentially hazardous situations, with most sensor response and clear times under 15 seconds.
It detects combustible gases in LEL and/or volume percentage range, oxygen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, ammonia, chlorine, VOCs, and more based on the sensor type. The rugged overmolded polycarbonate housing ensures exceptional durability, with the ability to withstand a 10-ft (3m) drop and IP65 certification.
The integral pump delivers consistent gas flow, eliminating concerns about externally attached components. High-performance XCell Sensors have a typical lifespan exceeding 4 years for certain sensors and over 3 years for others, with most sensor response and clear times under 15 seconds.
Calibration gas usage is minimized, requiring approximately half the test gas typically used for calibration and bump tests. Rapid bump tests yield results in under 10 seconds for most common sensor configurations, with span calibration taking 60 seconds for similar setups.
Additional features include MotionAlert, which notifies others if the user becomes immobile, and InstantAlert, providing a manual alarm for potentially hazardous situations. The PID option ensures accurate and reliable VOC response with programmable reference factors.
Large buttons and a bright display facilitate easy operation, even when wearing gloves. An exclusive end-of-sensor warning alerts users when the unit's sensor nears the end of its life. The versatile MSA Link Software enables data transmission to a computer, compatible with the GALAXY GX2 Test System and MSA Link Pro Software for fleet management. Wireless Bluetooth connectivity is included as standard.
